HOME REPAIRS

T&C Trapping, Inc. offers complete home and business inspections that are guaranteed to help minimize any future animal problems or to help solve any existing wildlife conflicts.  We have 16 years experience in installing animal prevention devices, trapping nuisance wildlife, and repairing homes due to animal damage.  Please feel free to call us anytime for advice, instruction, or estimates.

1)      ATTIC REPAIRS:  If an animal has been in your attic never enter without proper breathing equipment or protection.  The most common repairs to an attic are:

A)    To have insulation contaminated with animal urine and feces removed.  The insulation will also be matted down from the animal walking in the attic, which can lower the R-value significantly.  Here's one of our clean-up crews-Front Row: Emmanuel, Josh, Jake, Jennifer, Peter, Ed, John, & Bill. Back Row: Jason & Scott.

B)     To have the attic disinfected to kill any bacteria, fungus, mildew, or germs.  Even if there is little or no apparent damage the insulation could still be infested with fleas and ticks.  The insulation could have areas with urine that cannot be seen, which could cause mold, mildew, or bacteria to grow.  Disinfecting an attic after having an animal is strongly recommended.

C)    Covering all vents with a thick gauge screening to keep animals out in the future.  The most common way animals enter the attic is through the attic fan.  The screening for most home attic fans is the same type as would be found in your window.  The screening is actually standing straight up and down vertically and can be bent over with very little pressure.  It is insufficient to stop the smallest of squirrels or birds from entering your attic.  While the screening for attic vents is horizontally installed another layer of thicker gauge screening should be applied.

D)    Repairing any electrical damage caused by the chewing or gnawing of animals.  Babies especially love to pull and chew on wires, cables, or other electrical lines running through an attic.  Animals entering an attic have caused many fires and great caution should be taken to have any electrical repairs completed as soon as possible.  Our professional, courteous, and expert electricians can perform inspections, make recommendations, give estimates, and repair any damages that are needed.

E)     Installing new insulation to restore your home back to the way it was before an animal entered.  Any damages caused by raccoons are covered under most insurance policies.  Because a squirrel is part of the rodent family damages are typically not covered.

2)      ROOF REPAIRS:  It is quite common for animals to walk across the roofs of homes searching for entry points looking for new dens.  Some of the access points are:

A)    Where a roof meets a soffet area from another roof.  This is the second most common area that an animal will enter an attic.  Animals obtain a great amount of leverage in these corners and can exert a tremendous amount of force when chewing or clawing.  Our expert carpenters can repair any holes and then construct barriers to prevent this problem from re-occurring.  All of our repair work is guaranteed.

B)     Weak or soft wood will cause animals to chew or pry to try to gain access.  Repairs should be done to any parts of the roof showing signs of aging to help minimize the possibility of an animal entering and causing more damage.  Animals can feel heat escaping from small roofline holes and will try to chew away soft wood to try to get in.

C)    Vent covers in the soffets make easy access points for birds and animals.  Make sure all covers are properly attached.

4)      CEMENT WORK:  Animals such as opossums and skunks will make dens under cement steps and stoops.  After the animal is removed we offer to install barriers to eliminate this problem from re-occurring.  We will dig a hole 8-10 inches deep and 3-4 inches wide around a step.  We then fill the hole with metal rods and pour in cement, which then forms an impenetrable wall.  We offer a lifetime guarantee that no animal will ever penetrate this barrier.

5)      DECK SCREENING: Animals love to chew holes through latticework and take up residence under your deck.  T&C Trapping, Inc. can install screening to the back of the lattice, which is virtually unnoticeable.  We can also install barriers attached to the deck going into the ground to stop animals from digging under the deck.  Please call anytime for a free estimate by one of our fully trained wildlife control officers.

6)      ODOR CONTROL:  T&C Trapping, Inc. offers a complete line of deodorizing sprays from unscented to citrus.  If a skunk sprays your home or an animal dies we can spray to disinfect and to help minimize any unwanted odors.
